Students can request an Asus Netbook CloudReady Chromebook for personal checkout during the school year. These devices allow students to access the internet for school-related business, such as online research, assignment submission, online collaboration and communication with teachers and other students, etc. They also can be helpful to students needing access to the web for personal business such as job searching and online test prep. An orientation will be required before devices are issued, to ensure students know how to access resources, get tech support when needed, and properly use and care for their device. These devices have been in use on campus for the last several years, but have been repurposed and reimaged so that they can be made available for individual student checkout for a fee of $20, which covers battery usage costs. Students wishing to apply for a fee reduction may do so using the Waiver Request Form. A packet of information, including all required forms is available in the library or can be downloaded here.
